The Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry

Houserules

1. Van der Valk Hotel Venlo (further named as Hotel Venlo) has set out in a number of house rules what is expected of visitors to Hotel Venlo and what you may expect from us. When entering Hotel Venlo the house rules of Hotel Venlo apply and you agree to the house rules as stated below.
2. All instructions from employees on behalf of Hotel Venlo related to the house rules must be followed immediately.
3. Within Hotel Venlo we appreciate your use of the public areas, however this is done at your own risk.
4. At Hotel Venlo we treat each other with respect and it is therefore forbidden to insult or make discriminatory remarks and it is forbidden to sexually harass our guests and staff by word or gesture (action).
5. To maintain peace in the immediate vicinity of Hotel Venlo, it is not allowed to cause noise pollution.
6. Hotel Venlo has to comply with the requirements of the Drank- en Horecawetgeving, alcoholic beverages are therefore not provided to visitors younger than 18 years. In case of doubt about the age of a visitor, Hotel Venlo staff will ask you to show proof of identity.
7. In order not to negatively influence the atmosphere during the stay, no alcohol will be served to the person in question if drunkenness is suspected.
8. During your presence, you are using property of Hotel Venlo and third parties, it is forbidden to commit theft or vandalism.
9. To guard the peace, order and safety within Hotel Venlo, it is forbidden to use or threaten violence.
10. In order to offer you and your family, friends and acquaintances a pleasant stay, it is prohibited to possess, use or trade (soft) drugs (including nitrous oxide) or weapons.
11. Hotel Venlo does not make its premises available for any purposes other than those set forth in our policy. It is therefore forbidden to trade goods, heal or offer services (prostitution). If this is detected, the reservation will be terminated immediately. The amount of a room already paid will not be refunded.
12. The employees of Hotel Venlo are watching over your safety, in case of emergencies the emergency plan will be activated. You are urgently requested to follow any instructions of the staff.
13. Do not leave your belongings on the Hotel Venlo site and in your car unattended. Hotel Venlo is not liable for loss, damage or theft of your property. Parking around the hotel/area of Hotel Venlo is at your own risk.
14. Check-in is possible from 15:00 hours and check-out must take place before 11:30 hours. If you wish to stay longer or want to book a late check out (until max. 17:00 hrs and only possible based on availability) you need to let us know before 11:30 hrs at the latest. The extension must also be paid for before 11:30 a.m., after which we will extend your room pass.
15. No more persons may be present per room than the total number of persons for which the room is booked. If multiple rooms are booked, these persons may not be together in any of these rooms.
16. Food or beverages left in a checked-out room will be discarded.
17. Smoking is prohibited throughout the property, including in the rooms. No smoking in the window opening either. In case of smoking in the room we will charge an additional cleaning fee of €150 which must be paid directly to the Front Office.
18. If the fire alarm goes off due to smoking in the room, we will charge you the fire department's call-out charge of €275.
19. There are smoke detectors throughout the hotel and in all rooms. If it is found that these are covered, removed or in any other way sabotaged you must leave the premises immediately. The amount of a room already paid for will not be refunded.
20. Anyone 18 years of age or older may reserve a room. Main bookers under 18 years of age need permission from a parent/guardian to reserve a room. This parent/guardian must be present at check-in. Without physical consent, underage principal bookers may be refused. The person who books a trip (also) for other participants is liable for all others he or she signs up.
