Crossing the Border - Crime in Limburg
Across the border – Crime in Limburg
Is Limburg the most criminal province in the Netherlands? You get that feeling when you look at the figures: four Limburg municipalities are in the top 10 of the national crime meter, two in the top 10 of disadvantaged municipalities and five in the top 10 of places where most undermining crime occurs. But what are the stories behind these statistics?
In Across the border – Crime in Limburg we examine the relationship between our border province and crime. Why is crime in this region different from other parts of the Netherlands? From minor offenses to high-profile cases, from historical context to present-day implications, and all illuminated from different perspectives.
Across the border is an exhibition about people. Who do we see as victims, who as perpetrators, and what determines this? Who are the people behind the cases? In six themes (combining historical and contemporary stories), we take you into the world of crime in Limburg and offer a new perspective on a theme that affects everyone.
Across the border – Crime in Limburg can be visited from April 4, 2026, to January 3, 2027. Book your tickets through our webshop.
