Sustainable business is an important corporate objective at Van der Valk Hotel Venlo. Controlling the environmental impact of the hotel plays an important role in this. The management and all employees are responsible for this. To fulfill this corporate objective, we follow the guidelines established by Green Key, a European-recognized label by the Foundation for Environmental, Safety, and Quality Certification.

“With our Green Key certificate, we are going a step further than required by law and regulations. In doing so, we hope to set an example for fellow business owners and remain at the forefront of developments in the field of sustainability.”

Green Key is an internationally recognised certification programme for businesses in the hotel and leisure sector. The quality mark demonstrates that we operate in accordance with the criteria of the Green Key standard and are committed to improving our environmental performance. In doing so, we go a step further than normal laws and regulations require. With this certification, we demonstrate that we have adopted a concrete policy to make our hotel, restaurant and conference facilities more sustainable.

An important aspect of the Green Key certificate is that you, as our guest, will not be inconvenienced by the sustainable measures we undertake. And no, you are not expected to constantly be mindful of nature and the environment during your holiday, but as a guest you can contribute to our sustainability efforts by, for example, using water and energy responsibly.

To remain Green Key Gold certified, we are continuously working to further and better sustain our product. You can find more information about Green Key here.
