Rental terms for bike rental

We are happy to rent out our beautiful bicyclesand e-bikes to you. To register this properly, we would like to ask you to fill in the form below.

Rental terms (electric) bicycles

• Article 1
  The renter is deemed to have received the (electric) bike(s) in good condition. Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V. is deemed to have delivered the (electric) bike(s) in good condition.

• Article 2
  When the renter uses the (electric) bike, this is regarded as proof that it functions well and shows no defects. The renter is personally responsible for this. In case of doubt about safety, the renter must report this immediately to the leasing party. The use of the (electric) bike is at the renter's own risk. Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V. is not liable for any damage suffered by the renter as a result of using the (electric) bike unless there is gross negligence by Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V.

• Article 3
  The renter is liable for damage resulting from theft as well as all other attributable damage to the rented (electric) bike during the rental period caused or incurred by the renter. This damage must be settled immediately upon return of the (electric) bike.

• Article 4
  Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V. is at all times entitled to offset the amount of any payable compensation with the possibly deposited security deposit, without prejudice to the right of Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V. to additional compensation.

• Article 5
  Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V. is at all times entitled to reclaim the rented (electric) bike in case of suspected misuse.

• Article 6
  In case of theft, the renter is liable for the daily value of the (electric) bike(s) as these are not insured by Van der Valk Hotel Venlo. The loss of rental income is not included in this. The daily value of an e-bike is set at € 1,600 per piece, the daily value of a (non-electric) bike is set at € 400 per piece.

• Article 7
  The renter will take care of the rented (electric) bike as a good manager and use it according to its intended purpose.

• Article 8
  The renter is not liable for damage resulting from material defects of the (electric) bike if this material defect can be attributed to Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V.

• Article 9
  It is not permitted for the renter to sublease or give the rented (electric) bike to third parties for use, or to transfer the rental rights completely or partially to third parties.

• Article 10
  In case of early return, the full rent will remain applicable.

• Article 11
  In addition to respecting traffic rules and the locally applicable police regulations, it is strictly prohibited:
  
  a) To drive on and off curbs.
  b) To collide with each other with the (electric) bike while riding.
  c) To carry more people than the available seats.

• Article 12
  Damage, loss, and theft: The renter is liable for damage to or loss of the (electric) bike or parts thereof, as well as bike keys and chain(s)/locks, against amounts which the lessor determines according to normal standards, unless they are stated in the rental contract at daily value. The (electric) bikes are not insured against liability or casco damage.

• Article 13
  Deposit: We charge a € 50 deposit per bike, payable by debit or credit card.

• Article 14
  In case of a defect in the bike, you must always contact our hotel's Front Office immediately by phone. It is not allowed to have the bike repaired at an external bike shop or to perform repairs yourself without permission. If this instruction is not followed, any costs incurred will be entirely at your own expense.
