Bicycle rental terms and conditions

We are happy to rent out our beautiful bicycles and e-bikes to you. To register this correctly, we would like to ask you to fill in the form below.

First, carefully read our rental conditions before filling out the form.

Rental conditions (electric) bikes

• Article 1
  The tenant is deemed to have received the (electric) bike(s) in good condition. Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V. is deemed to have delivered the (electric) bike(s) in good condition.

• Article 2
  If the renter starts using the (electric) bicycle, this is considered proof that it is functioning properly and has no defects. The renter is responsible for this themselves. In case of any doubt regarding safety, the renter must immediately report this to the renting party. The use of the (electric) bicycle is at the renter's own risk. Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V. is not liable for any damage suffered by the renter as a result of using the (electric) bicycle unless there is gross negligence on the part of Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V.

• Article 3
  The renter is liable for damage as a result of theft as well as all other attributable damage to the rented (electric) bicycle caused or arisen by the renter during the rental period. This damage must be settled immediately upon the return of the (electric) bicycle.

• Article 4
  At all times, Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V. is entitled to offset the amount of any compensation owed with the possible deposited security deposit, without prejudice to the right of Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V. to additional compensation.

• Article 5
  Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V. is at all times entitled to take in the rented (electric) bicycle in case of suspected misuse.

• Article 6
  In case of theft, the renter is liable for the current value of the (electric) bicycle(s), as these are not insured by Van der Valk Hotel Venlo. Loss of rental income is not included. The current value of an e-bike is set at €1,600 per unit, the current value of a (non-electric) bicycle is set at €400 per unit.

• Article 7
  The tenant shall take care of the rented (electric) bicycle as a good manager and use it in accordance with its intended purpose.

• Article 8
  The tenant is not liable for damage resulting from material defects of the (electric) bicycle, if this material defect can be attributed to Van der Valk Hotel Venlo B.V.

• Article 9
  The tenant is not allowed to sublet or transfer the rented (electric) bicycle to third parties or to transfer the rental rights, in whole or in part, to third parties.

• Article 10
  In case of an early return, the full rent still applies.

• Article 11
  In addition to respecting the traffic rules and the local police regulations, it is strictly prohibited:
  
  a) To drive onto and off the sidewalks.
  b) To collide with each other while riding (electric) bicycles.
  c) Transporting more people than the available seats.

• Article 12
  Damage, loss, and theft: The renter is liable for damages to or loss of the (electric) bicycle or parts thereof, as well as bicycle keys and chain(s)/locks, at amounts determined by the renter according to normal standards, unless specified in the rental contract at current value. The (electric) bicycles are not insured against liability or casco damage.

• Article 13
  Deposit: We charge a €50 deposit per bicycle, payable by debit or credit card.

• Article 14
  In the event of a bicycle defect, you must always immediately contact the Front Office of our hotel by phone. It is not allowed to have the bicycle repaired at an external bike shop or to carry out repairs yourself without permission. If this instruction is not followed, any incurred costs will be entirely at your own expense.
